The Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (NWO)
has awarded several tons of funding to the Longitudinal
Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA), led by Dr.
Martijn Huisman (EMGO+), for more frequent research into Dutch
elderly in the upcoming years. For the past decades, the LASA study has
performed repeated measurements every three years. As changes in health and
functioning can proceed rapidly in the older population above age 80, a shorter
period of time between the measurements for this group is of great importance
to monitor the aging process accurately.
