Letter from the director

Dear Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to update you on some important developments within our Research School CaRe.

Due to the Corona limitations we had to change our live meeting for the 2021 Annual CaRe Days into an online meeting. It is always a pity when you do not have the chance to see and meet each other live, but the contents of the alternative online meeting were really great. At the first day, we had a very nice session mediated by Anneke van Dijk, Sandra Beurskens en Anita Stevens on co-creation. How to involve your stakeholders (e.g. patients) in your research project in an optimal way? Co-creating research questions and designs at an early stage together with your target audience is key when it comes to implementing the results and implications of your project. The parallel sessions with PhD students is always a popular highlight of the CaRe Days and also this year, the evaluation and feedback of this session was very good. During the second day, the jury revealed the nominees and final winner of the CaRe Award 2021. We congratulate Aukelien Scheffelaar of the Nivel Institute as CaRe Award winner based on her impressive PhD thesis.

We sincerely hope that the CaRe Days 2022 will be a live meeting in Eindhoven again.
As always, the meeting is the possibility to meet other CaRe researchers in your area of interest in a relaxed and friendly environment. The meeting is free but, there is a maximum number that can participate.
Please have a look at the exiting program and do not wait too long to subscribe

In July 2021, we started the Public Health and Care Research Leadership Program with 15 highly talented postdoc researchers from Cambridge, Nihes and CaRe. The purpose of this two-year program is that the participants become leading researchers in public health and care research. The evaluation thus far is very positive. The program consists of several on site modules, mutual learning groups and individual coaching. If you have at least 5 years of postdoc research experience and want to become an international leader in your research area, please have a look at our CaRe website for the selection criteria and the contents of the program.

If you have any suggestions for CaRe, please do not hesitate to contact me, or your local director. All suggestions are more than welcome.

Kind regards,
Onno van Schayck
